Crisis and Resilience Fund

The Crisis and Resilience Fund (CRF) is funded by the UK Government. It replaces the Household Support Fund, but is not a like for like replacement.

Low income households who are facing a sudden or unexpected expense or an unexpected loss of income can apply for a Crisis Payment from the Crisis and Resilience Fund.

A Crisis Payment is short term and focused on helping with an immediate crisis, such as a heating or utility bill, food and essential white goods or furniture.

Crisis Payments are administered by the Council and Encompass Southwest.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the fund, you must:

  • Live in the Torridge area as your main area of residence, or be receiving help from Torridge District Council if you do not have a home
  • Be 16 years of age or over
  • Evidence that you are a low income household facing an unexpected financial shock for which you need financial crisis support and/or resilience support

The fund intends to help households build longer term financial resilience so that they are better able to manage future financial shocks, and we will update our website with further details of this help and support when it is available.

If you are seeking a Housing Payment to help meet housing costs, you can find information about Housing Payments at Housing Payment Scheme | Torridge District Council.
