Candar Advice Centre
Working in partnership with Scribes CIC and North Devon Homes the Candar Advice Centre and Transform 4 Work is a ‘one stop shop’ for free and confidential advice and support on a variety of issues including:
Money and Debt Advice – our trained advisers can offer ‘one off’ advice right through to full case work on a variety of issues including writing to creditors on your behalf, preparing income and expenditure statements, setting up payment plans, IVA’s and Debt Relief Orders. Welfare Benefits – offering support to apply for welfare benefits including Universal Credit, support with appeals and how to deal with sanctions.
Budgeting – one to one support to manage your income and expenditure, we can also deliver group financial capability training through the ‘Money Maze’ which is delivered by our partners at Wiser£money.
Housing and Homelessness – offering advice and support to those people who are at risk of homelessness or whom are rough sleeping. We can provide practical support such as emergency food parcels and sleeping bags.
Support with form filling, writing CV’s and applying for work – our dedicated volunteers are on hand to help you get started.
Signposting – our advisers can make referrals to specialist external agencies on your behalf including issuing food bank vouchers.
We offer full access to our IT suite which can be used to make new benefit claims, update claims, search for jobs or create your CV for future employers. We have friendly and experienced volunteers who are on hand to help you get started.

Providing free information and advice on your energy costs helping you to stay warm and save money.

Providing access to adult learning courses across Northern Devon including access to qualifications and skills, courses for leisure and apprenticeships.

Providing planned advice and support to clients living in and around Ilfracombe.
